The Pentagone house, a geometry drawn from the site
A timber-frame and hemp-brick house, designed up to the building permit (permis de construire) with the joinery firm Fabien Gallou, at the Écohameau du Plessis. Permit obtained, project not built, 2018.

01 — The brief
This house, designed with a carpentry firm (Fabien Gallou menuiserie), takes a pentagonal form that responds to the geometry of the plot and frees up as much surface area as possible to the south.
02 — The response
A large first-floor terrace and wide glazed openings let in light and solar gain in winter, while a roof overhang protects against overheating in summer. The construction combines a timber frame with hemp-brick walls.
03 — In short
The building permit was obtained, but the client unfortunately abandoned the project.
04 — Expertise
This project belongs to one field of the studio’s expertise: bioclimatic construction and extensions.
